Ann Curry
Ann Curry is an American journalist and photojournalist who has been a reporter for more than 45 years focusing on the people suffering from conflict zones as well as natural disasters. Curry reported on conflicts within Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry was an American journalist, news reporter on TV as well as host. She is most recognized as a correspondent on the Today program a morning broadcast newscast on NBC. Curry was renowned for her reporting on human rights issues in war-stricken countries and on natural disasters. Curry was the child of a U.S. Navy sailor and a Japanese woman. Curry's parents met in Japan, in which her father was stationed following World War II. Because of her father's military service, the family relocated often. Curry finished her high schooling in Ashland Oregon. In 1978 she graduated from her school at the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. The exposure she received to diverse cultures and situations during her growing up years probably contributed to her empathy in her approach to global issues. Then she returned into Los Angeles four years later working as a journalist at KCBS TV. Two Emmy Awards were won during her six year association with the KCBS-TV.
